HOIC and its predecessor LOIC get their names from weapons used in video games, so they are weapons.

However, it can be ported to Mac and Linux. Unlike LOIC that is compatible with num platforms, HOIC is designed only for Windows. The primary purpose of developing this platform was to launch attacks, so it doesn’t have any other use case.
